TVS Motor Company has finally launched the new BS-IV emission norm-compliant Jupiter scooter. The new BS-IV compliant TVS Jupiter has been launched at Rs 49,666 (ex-showroom Delhi), and the good news is that no price hike has been made on the updated version. TVS has also added two new colours – Jade Green and Mystic Gold, to the Jupiter range.

The new BS-IV compliant TVS Jupiter scooter also features Auto Headlamp On (AHO), which is a safety feature, and also gets equipped with Sync Braking System (SBS), which is similar to the CBS system seen on Honda scooters. TVS announced that the Sync Braking System (SBS) will be standard across the entire Jupiter range, it was earlier offered only on the ZX range.

There are no other changes to the new BS-IV compliant TVS Jupiter and it is powered by the same 110cc engine which is a low-friction unit. The scooter gets Eco Mode and Power Mode, with the former offering better fuel efficiency.

Commenting on the new BS-IV compliant TVS Jupiter scooter, Aniruddha Haldar, Vice President Marketing- Scooters, TVS Motor Company, said, “TVS Jupiter has received such enthusiasm from the consumers, in response to its credo of Zyada ka Fayda. Living true to this credo not only is the entire Jupiter range now BSIV compliant, it now offers the unique Sync Braking System (SBS) across the entire range (earlier only available on the ZX range). Further, for our customers, we are adding two colours Jade Green and Mystic Gold, giving them 10 colour options to choose from. We are happy to offer all this with absolutely no change in the Ex- showroom price, truly ZYADA KA FAYDA!

The metal bodied, BS-IV compliant TVS Jupiter is styled to have a substantial on-road presence, which delivers high-performance ride quality with superior ride comfort. The scooter also comes with TVS patented Econometer, which guides riders in both ‘Eco Mode’ and ‘Power Mode’ and the engine delivers best-in-class fuel economy in ‘Eco’ mode. The BS-IV compliance is denoted by the sticker seen on the front panel.

Apart from being BS-IV compliant, the powertrain remains unchanged as the Jupiter continues to use the same all-aluminium, low-friction 109.7 cc single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 8 bhp of power at 7500 rpm and 8 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. The motor comes paired to an automatic transmission.

The TVS Jupiter made its debut in the Indian two-wheeler market in 2013. Ever since its launch, the Jupiter has been warmly accepted by Indian buyers and TVS has sold over 1.5 million units of the 110cc scooter. The secret to the success of the Jupiter can be credited to features like external fuel filler cap, pass light (segment-first), tubeless tyres, alloy wheels, telescopic front forks, mobile charger, eco and power modes etc. The Jupiter is available in 3 variants, Base – Rs. 49,666/-, ZX – Rs. 51,689/- and ZX Disc – Rs. 53,666/- (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi) and seems all set to rival the likes of the newly launched Honda Activa.
